As of summer 2021 I am no longer raising poultry due to my boarding situation no longer being viable. Below are the last available birds.
Ancona Ducks
Ancona ducks are a rare and threatened tri-purpose American breed known for foraging ability, flavorful meat, and for being prolific layers. I couldn’t find any breeders in the area my original stock traveled from the East Coast to here in Northern California. In spring of 2020, a breed standard was finally approved and our work toward restoring the breed to its original purpose began in earnest. Over the years, what was once a medium size duck became smaller and smaller in size. So we hatched over 100 ducklings, kept copious records, and culled heavily for size and conformation. When the National Meet occurred in Lodi, CA, I was able to bring 16 of my best ducks and get paperwork signed that will allow approval of the breed by the American Poultry Association to move forward. I had just set our best birds into breeding pens when I was told I had to rehome them. I suppose these are the risks of trying to run a breeding program outside your property.

Jersey Giants
I fell in love with these gentle giants as a kid and it was my dream to raise them ever since. Not knowing any better, I ordered chicks from Cackle Hatchery that ended up being Australorps! So began my search for “real” Jersey Giants and I was lucky enough to get chicks from Robin Twiford before she got out of the breed. I brought these two cockerels to the 2021 National Meet in Lodi, CA where the blue took Best of Variety against a number of blues. The black, being the only black male Jersey Giant, was an automatic first as well.
Unfortunately, since the boarding situation for these birds is no longer working out, I am offering these two for sale.

Black Australorp Hens
These lovely gals were supposed to be Jersey Giants. They are not but they are dedicated, friendly, gentle, & protective broody hens who will hatch anything you put under them. They were quite confused and nervous when the ducklings they raised took to the water. They’d stand at the pond’s edge and nag until their charges were safely back on shore.
Available as a laying trio.
