This piece was commissioned for the 2012 Poly Royal Rodeo. It was inspired by photos of a rodeo queen and barrel racer friend of mine. The painting was used for the rodeo poster and event guide cover as pictured. The original is still available!
Popular fonts for western designs are Rosewood Standard, Bleeding Cowboys, and even Papyrus. These fonts are so recognizable and so overused that instead of differentiating the event or business as its own brand, it actually makes the event or business more generic.
