Rattler
Pass

I started this painting five years ago. Scratch that. I had this painting in my head back in 2010. Eight years ago. I sketched it out about five years ago. And then I carried the sketch on cotton paper, stretched on huge stretcher bars, with me through at least one move. A few weeks ago, I needed to paint a large painting pronto. And all my large stretcher bars were being used. Rifling through my closet of frames and large stretched canvases I stumbled across this sketch. It was perfect! I painted it inside the shape of a herd of horses thundering toward the viewer. Will the startled mustang escape the coiled rattler without falling down the side of the cliff?
